Online Waiver

I understand that participation in cleanup activities (Cleanup) with Anacostia Watershed Society (AWS) who is joined by American Rivers, Inc. (AR) is entirely voluntary. I understand that AWS and AR volunteer events might involve light physical exertion—such as bending, lifting, and digging—and voluntary or involuntary contact with harmful plants and animals. I know and understand the risks involved in the above-named activities, and I know and understand that unanticipated dangers might arise. I hereby release AWS and AR from any responsibility for injury which might occur as a result of my participation in the Cleanup. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless AWS and AR for any damage or injury to me or my property as a result of my participation in the Cleanup.

By signing below, I give permission for me/my child to participate in the Cleanup. I also give permission to authorize personnel to carry out such emergency diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as may be necessary for me or my child, and also permit such treatment procedures to be carried out by the local hospital(s) for me or my child in the event of any emergency.

I further agree that my/my child’s photo, image or likeness may be used for future AWS or AR projects, such as a video, documentary or print publication, and I hold said entities harmless in the use of my/my child’s photo or image.

I also give my permission for AWS and AR or their respective representatives to send me messages about programs and activities sponsored by the organization and/or its partners at the e-mail address supplied below. I understand that AWS and AR will never sell, or rent my email information without my advanced consent. I also understand that I will always have the option to stop receiving e-mail messages from AWS and AR at any time and under any circumstances.

Group registrations are now closed. Please have members of your group sign up individually.

What to Expect

Date: April 21, 2018

Be a Hero of the Anacostia River! AWS volunteers are stepping up and doing what it takes to clean the Anacostia River. Be prepared to get dirty and have fun.

Before you arrive read the section below on "What to Bring."

When you arrive look for signs to check in at the registration table. You will meet the folks organizing your site, and get your t shirt.

Site leaders will brief you on basic safety measures to ensure that everyone has a safe, fun time. All tools and supplies needed will be provided - no need to bring your own gloves unless you have a favorite pair.

This is a family friendly event and kids are welcome! However, all participants under 18 must have a waiver signed by an adult and participants under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
